Positional OSA- 3 CECs! (AAST APPROVED!)

On-Demand Webinars on Positional OSA Series

Today, managing sleep patients has proven difficult—from diagnosis to patient acceptance to successful treatment and adherence. To help improve patient acceptance and adherence, we need to reconsider how we diagnose sleep disorders, treat sleep patients more efficiently and make therapy easier to use. The webinar series focuses on treating positional OSA, new positional alternative therapy now available and clinical evidence to support this treatment.

Positional OSA: Overview and Clinical Approaches

Description:

It is time to start rethinking how we treat Positional OSA (POSA).  Not only rethinking the assumptions about the diagnosis process but also the alternative therapy devices available to treat POSA.  In this webinar, Professor Heinzer and Professor de Vries, reclaimed Sleep key opinion leaders, will discuss  POSA, its prevalence and patient demographics, and the history of alternative mechanical devices to treat POSA patients.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Upon completion of this activity, the attendee will be able to:

  2. Recognized Positional OSA more easily.

  3. Discuss the prevalence and patient demographics of Positional OSA.

  4. Discuss alternative mechanical devices to treat Positional OSA patients.

Advances in OSA Management: Treatment of Positional
Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Description:

Positional Obstructive Sleep Apnea (POSA) is not a new disorder. It has long been recognized that sleep position can affect the severity of OSA. Positional therapy, along with weight management, is one of the most commonly used methods for treating POSA patients. There are many sleep devices on the market today to prevent sleeping in the supine position, however, they are not without limitations.  Today, we will discuss just how far we have come since treating POSA patients with the tennis ball technique.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, the attendee will be able to:

  1. Discuss the limitations of existing positional devices used to treat Positional OSA (POSA) patients.

  2. Describe new technological therapy treatment for Positional OSA.

  3. Describe how to screen POSA patients for Positional therapy.

  4. Describe best practices for prescribing NightBalance for POSA patients.

New Clinical Evidence for the Treatment of
Positional OSA

Description:

There are many benefits to treating OSA; however, there is no one size fits all solution. When a patient is diagnosed with Positional OSA, is using traditional therapy most effective? Should we seek alternative therapies? In this webinar, Dr. Abaluck will review new evidence available on treating Positional OSA with NightBalance positional therapy vs. APAP.  Elizabeth King, Physician Assistant, will discuss the importance of patient follow up after prescribing positional therapy, and answer the most common asked questions by patients.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, the attendee will be able to:

  1. Identify new key findings in the POSAtive Study.

  2. Describe how positional therapy fits in the treatment of POSA.

  3. Recognize the value of the patient portal for both the physician and the patient accessing their data via a smartphone.

We pay  fees to keep this website available. If we don't get enough money to cover the costs, this site will go away.
This is a privately run site, just me & my husband. He helped me set it up & I have been running it since then. I am the one who finds the CEUs & posts them. The site saves you techs money & helps you keep your certification(s). If each person who uses the site would give $2 or more at least once, it would cover the cost of keeping the site up and give us a small profit. After over 7 years of running this site, the income from ads & tips barely pays for itself. We make NOTHING for our time & effort to keep it up. A tip is a way to say thanks & to keep this site available for everyone.

As always, there are no fees or registration required to use this site.
Thanks in advance!

Our processing fee for Paypal went from 20 cents to 33 cents for a minimum transaction.  To offset that, I changed the minimum donation to $2.

Tips help cover our expenses so that we aren't doing the work of keeping the site running AND paying for the costs involved. Thank you for helping us keep this page FREE & available for everyone.

Please tell your friends & coworkers about this site. Help them to keep their registries active. I know there are many people who struggle to get their CEUs to keep their registries, licenses and/ or certifications. This site is here to help everyone.
