Description:

Cardiac arrest remains a significant cause of death and disability. However, new technologies are fundamentally altering our potential to improve survival. This webinar will introduce healthcare professionals to some new and innovative technologies and practices currently being studied in the world of resuscitation. Discussion will focus on the use of drones for delivery of automated external defibrillator (AED) devices and blood for hemorrhaging patients, heads-up CPR, designated cardiac arrest centers, E-CPR, approaches for patients who wake up while receiving chest compressions and finally new evidence in post-arrest care. It’s exciting to see where resuscitation research is heading.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

1. Recognize the strategies that can improve shock success in ventricular fibrillation
2. Describe techniques to successfully convert supraventricular tachycardia
3. Discuss pacing therapy for symptomatic bradycardia

This program has been approved for 1.0 contact hours Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CRCE) credit by the American Association of Respiratory Care.
